Entre volcanes y silencios, la Puna que habita en mí
Hay territorios que no se miden en kilómetros, sino en suspiros.
La Puna de Catamarca es para mí uno de esos lugares donde el tiempo parece detenerse, donde cada paisaje es una invitación a la contemplación y cada silencio una conversación profunda con lo esencial.
Esta región guarda tesoros geológicos que desafían la imaginación: ocho de los diez volcanes más altos del mundo se alzan aquí, el Salar de Antofalla se extiende como el más largo del planeta con sus 160 kilómetros, y la caldera del Volcán Galán —con sus 43 kilómetros de diámetro— reina como una de las más grandes de la Tierra.
Pero los números apenas rozan la superficie.
Para el viajero, lo importante y lo esencial está en la profundidad y variedad de sensaciones que despierta esta zona única, tan hostil desde lo natural como cariñosa en su gente.
Cada viaje a la Puna me transforma, cada fotografía es un intento de compartir lo que se siente cuando la vastedad te abraza y te recuerda lo pequeño y lo infinito que eres al mismo tiempo.

Among volcanoes and silences: the Puna that lives within me
There are territories that aren’t measured in kilometers, but in sighs.
The Puna of Catamarca is, for me, one of those places where time seems to stand still, where every landscape is an invitation to contemplation and every silence a profound conversation with what is essential.
This region holds geological treasures that defy the imagination: eight of the ten tallest volcanoes in the world rise here, the Salar de Antofalla stretches as the longest salt flat on the planet at 160 kilometers, and the caldera of the Galán Volcano—with its 43-kilometer diameter—reigns as one of the largest on Earth.
But the numbers barely scratch the surface.
For the traveler, what is important and essential lies in the depth and variety of sensations that this unique area awakens, as harsh in its natural environment as it is warm in its people.
Each trip to the Puna transforms me; each photograph is an attempt to share what it feels like when the vastness embraces you and reminds you how small and infinite you are at the same time.
